I’ve been drawing, but not posting lately because I’ve been a bit preoccupied with this bad mamma-jamma. I finally bought myself a Cintiq drawing tablet and it is AWESOME! Game changing awesome. I love it and I should’ve gotten one sooner. So more digital drawings coming up soon 🙂
Also, I’ve been living in a cave trying to stay cool since the recent heat wave set in. I can’t wait for it to be cold enough where I relish the warmth of the Cintiq under my hand.
Here’s a small review of the device – I haven’t had it long, so take it with a grain of salt.
The cord is like a cat o’ nine tails whip – a little strange when the thicker end goes to the Cintiq and one of the thinner lines connects to another line that goes to the power plug. So right now, my cords are kind of messy, but I just need to figure out the best configuration for my set up.
I had to press the stand into the device harder than I thought to click it in.
I also want to buy some different pen tips – I think they have some nice felt ones that will be fun to use. I noticed that the tip and the screen are very smooth, so my lines are just a tad shakier than when I work on paper. Paper/pencil texture must help me stabilize my lines, but I think a different pen tip might help me out… or I just need more practice 😛
I’m most worried about the plug in the side of the device because most reviews said they had connection issues with it. So far, my plug is working fine and I’m trying to be really gentle with it.
Everything else about the function of the device is perfect! The only occasional latency I see is because my laptop isn’t super fast with Photoshop. The picture and colors are great, the screen has a matte finish that resists fingerprints… did I mention, I can draw on the screen!! It’s just too cool 🙂
